INDIA WILL BE POVERTY,CORRUPTION-FREE BY 2022

The government has envisaged to make a New India by2022 which will be free from poverty,dirt, corruption,
terrorism, casteism and communalism, governmentthink tank Niti Aayog has said in its latest document.
According to New India @2022 document presented byNiti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar at Conferenceof Governors last month, India will be in the top three
economies of the world if it continues to grow at 8%from now until 2047.
It also envisions that we will achieve' Kuposhan MuktBharat by 2022.
The document visualises that government will be able toconnect all villages with habitations over 500 (250 in
Special Areas) with all-weather roads by 2019 underPradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).

INDIA'S SULPHUR DIOXIDE EMISSION AMONG HIGHEST IN WORLD

India's emission of the air pollutant sulphur dioxide increased by 50 per cent since 2007, while China's fell by 75 per cent,claims a study which found that India is yet to implement emission controls like its neighbor. The study led by researchers at University of Maryland in the US suggested that India is becoming, if it is not already, the word's top sulphur dioxide emitter. Sulphur dioxide is an air pollutant that causes acid rain, haze and many health related problems. It is produced predominantly when coal is burned to generate electricity. "The rapid decrease of sulphur dioxide emission in China far exceeds expectations and projection", said Can Li, an associate research scientist at University of Maryland. "This suggests that China is implementing sulphur dioxide controls beyond what climate modellers  have taken into account," said Li,first author of the study published in the journal Scientific Reports.
